February Full-Day Retreat with Bhante Samitha — The Cessation of Feeling and Perception (2/1/2025) (In Person Only)
In personThe final goal of the Buddhist spiritual path is to liberate one’s mind from the afflictions of pain and suffering. It is normal for one to experience suffering in day-to-day life to a certain degree, but one’s mental/conceptual proliferations based on feelings and perceptions certainly take it to a great degree of suffering. So, Buddha has shown, through meditative practices, a gradual conditioning of one’s mind that culminates in a state in which one does not proliferate any longer dependent upon their sense experiences, which is called “the attainment of the cessation of feeling and perception.” Our one-day retreat on Feb 1, 2025, led by Bhante Samitha of Cambridge Peace House, mainly will focus on a practice that is conducive to this attainment of the cessation of feeling and perceptions.
This retreat is open to beginners and experienced meditators; everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend. Retreat is held mostly in silence complemented by teacher instruction and Question and Answer periods.

Face Coverings
Facemasks are not required but are recommended when social distancing is not possible. Please follow the Centers for Disease Control and Massachusetts state guidelines.
Maintain Social Distancing
Attendees are asked to mindfully maintain their distance from one another while on the property.
