July Half-Day Retreat with Matthew Daniell (7/1/2023)
In personThe Way of Knowing
In this retreat we will explore an essential wisdom approach to practicing working directly with the mind. We can draw upon supportive practices like breath awareness and loving-kindness as is skillful, but the essence of the practice will be to get to know the knowing mind itself as a path, a way to freedom. We will explore how the mind, when trained to settle back, relax, and observe in an open and curious way, sees into the nature of phenomena. This includes the outer world, the inner energies that cloud perception, as well as the clear empty nature of mind unhindered by clinging to thought and judgment. The invitation on this retreat is to create a foundation for turning daily life and formal practices into one undivided whole, based on the simple natural functioning of knowing, fully engaged with life.
Meditation instruction will be offered: this retreat is open to beginners and experienced meditators, and for anyone seeking an extended period of silent practice.

Covid Policy
While we are doing our best to follow expert guidelines for making the environment as safe as possible, the spread of the virus is ultimately beyond our control, so you should make your own determination as to whether it is appropriate for you to come.
Advance Registration is Required
Because social distancing means limiting the number of people in the meditation hall at one time, you must sign up in advance to attend. You may register weeks in advance or right before a class, but you won’t be able to register if we’ve already reached our maximum.
Face Coverings
Facemasks are not required but are recommended when social distancing is not possible. Please follow the Centers for Disease Control and Massachusetts state guidelines.
Maintain Social Distancing
Attendees are asked to mindfully maintain their distance from one another while on the property.
